Books I've recently read

Having a broken elbow and a horrible sinus infection has meant that this past month I've been busy doing a LOT of reading. I haven't been able to be at the computer, so chatting with people has been off-limits. Luckily, I had the fortune of marrying a wonderful and understanding guy who has done a great job taking care of me. :)

So what have I read?
Anansi Brothers - Neil Gaiman
I've been a great fan of Neil's for years, and had the opportunity to hear him speak at WLA conference 2 years ago. I enjoy his story writing and the way he weaves characters from one story to another. Hmm... Sounds suspiciously like SK.

Cell - Stephen King
I was introduced to SK by Joe ten years ago and haven't been able to get enough, from The Dark Tower series to the full version of The Stand. I liked this novel, but honestly was expecting so much more depth. It was as if dear SK was holding back, not wanting this to turn into another The Stand. Now some might argue that was a good thing, but I wanted more! I could see where SK could have developed much more solid plotlines, expanded on certain characters, made the ending much more dynamic.

Stolen - Kelley Armstrong
I read Bitten a number of years ago and really was excited to see another book by KA.

Urban Shaman - C.E. Murphy
Jenica suggested many of these books (Thanks JR!) and I was curious about this particular one. I had to ILL it (note to self: when creating bookstore, expand on what the public library doesn't own). It was fantastic! Looking forward to reading next published books!

Currently reading:
Counting Heads - David Marusek
So far, I'm hooked! Question of the day is: What would your "Age of Choice" be?

What are YOU reading?

I'm about to start reading The Warrior Prophet by R. Scott Bakker. Epic fantasy but not foo-foo fantasy where everyone's an archetype and the kid's clearly the lost king. Better fantasy than that. :) It's book 2 of 3, and it's arriving from Amazon tomorrow! Woo!

Glad you liked the Murphy. I always worry that I'm the only one who liked stuff, and that I'm letting people down.
